Role of the Hunter Valley HACC Development Project
The Hunter Valley HACC Development Project is dedicated to the continuous improvement of the HACC service delivery system and the benefits this can deliver to community care consumers. The project provides:
Support:
Assisting HACC and other community care providers with managemet advice, staff training, volunteer recruitment, promotion and publicity.
Facilitation:
ensuring effective communication between consumer groups, service providers and governement.
Advocacy:
Representing consumer groups and service providers to ensure equity and access in the HACC service delivery system.
Empowerment:
Assisting services and government to inform and include consumers.
Planning:
Acting as a line of communication between consumers, service providers and government in the planning and development of service provision
Networking:
Promotion a holistic approach to the provision of community care, providing up-to-date information and developing a more cohesive
service system
Development project activities also include:
- Supporting services to meet the National HACC Standards.
- Working with service providers to implement policy reforms within the Home and Community Care Program
- Working with community-based boards of management to support them in meeting their governance responsibilities.
- Convening and attending networks to improve communication, collaboration and cooperation between service provides and related agencies.
- Providing support in the areas of service promotion, volunteer recruitment and community development.
- Identifying training needs within the sector and promoting professional development opportunities for management, staff and volunteers.
Project Team:
